Karel Čapek

1890-1938

Karel Čapek (1890-1938) was a Czech writer, playwright and science-fiction author. He introduced the word 'robot' into the world's languages, in the play R.U.R., and wrote the dystopian novel War with the Newts. He also worked as a journalist and wrote short stories, plays and travel books.
